The local public accounting firm of Condley and Company, L.L.P. has completed its renovation of the historic Grant Building in downtown Abilene. Effective November 18, 2022, the offices of Condley and Company will be located at 302 Pine Street, across the street from its current location of 993 N. 3rd Street where the firm has been located for 45 years of its 83-year history.
In the Grant Building, Condley and Company will have more office space available for its growing staff as well as more windows to take in the downtown view at North Third and Pine. “We are thrilled to be able to continue our practice in the heart of downtown Abilene,” said Jeff D. Graham, Managing Partner. “We have a great deal of respect for this community and the clients we serve, and we hope that this new space will enable us to continue our commitment to exceptional client service for another 83 years.”
In the renovation process, the firm took great effort to spend locally and honor downtown Abilene in various ways. Local companies were utilized throughout the building project, and the Center for Contemporary Arts worked with Condley to collect and commission artwork by local artists. This trove of one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by Abilene and West Texas will be showcased throughout the Grant Building for visitors and staff to view and enjoy. Additionally, Condley and Company commissioned a local muralist to paint a scene of downtown Abilene on the side of the First Financial Bank parking garage, which is visible only from the Grant Building’s third floor.
The Grant Building was built by J. M. Radford in 1932 to serve as the home to the W. T. Grant department store. Although a variety of other businesses have used the space over the years, the site has been called the Grant Building since its inception.
